Imagination brings things to life! It is at the core of creativity and creation. It is through the use of our imagination we open ourselves up to confidently undertake things that might appear to be impossible. Pablo Picasso said, “Everything you can imagine is real.” And studies carried out by Dr. Luigi Afganti, of the University of Padua, show just that! His research showed that perception and imagination share the same neural mechanisms. What does this mean? The brain (the subconscious mind) does not know the difference between imagination and reality. Dr. Afganti discovered people are capable of experiencing sensations through imagination without certain stimuli being present because we use the same neural circuits in the brain. Quite simply, the brain loves to imagine so every human has the ability to imagine and create their own life..
